We hebben in Nederland 3 soorten "Glimwormen" (Lampyridae), maar alleen de mannetjes van Lamprohiza splendidula (Kleine Glimworm) geven terwijl ze vliegen ook licht. Op waarneming kun je zien [URL=https://waarneming.nl/soort/maps/18884?from=2000-05-26]waar ze zijn waargenomen[/URL], maar niet alle waarnemingen betreffen vliegende mannetjes natuurlijk - ook larven en kruipende vrouwtjes.

TJa.. o.a..in de regio Nijmegen....maar als iemand er al een of enkele ziet, is dat vaak een toevalstreffer waarbij het niet gezegd is dat je ze ook vindt . En vaak zijn dat ''kenners'' die ze vinden. Je moet weten in wat voor biotoop waar je ze moet zoeken en wanneer ze actief zijn.
Ze zijn niet alledaags, dus lijkt het me verstandig om terughoudend met vindplaatsen om te gaan .
Je zou eens kunnen informeren naar excursies in die regio; dan kun daar misschien verdere info krijgen.
