Er bloeien niet zoveel planten meer, dus wat nog bloeit lokt de late insecten. De Balsemien wordt altijd door veel insecten bezocht, vooral door Hommels en Honingbijen. In die zin is het een nuttige drachtplant, maar hij staat -vanwege ongebreidelde groei en verdringing van inheemse soorten -inmiddels wel op de lijst van ongewenste, invasieve soorten. Zie o.a. hier.
Tip voor een volgende keer om zeker ook de bladeren en hele plant te fotograferen, Arne.

ik heb jammer genoeg geen foto van het blad. de plant was ongeveer 50 cm groot hij stond in het gebied om loevestein het verbaasde mij hoeveel insecten de bloem bezochte.

Heb je ook nog een foto van de hele plant, Arne, en vooral een foto van het blad is belangrijk. En waar in Nederland...en wanneer, hoe hoog was de plant? Altijd graag zoveel mogelijk informatie bij een vraag; dat helpt om tot een goed antwoord te komen.
Al met al denk ik eigenlijk eerder aan een Reuzenbalsemien - Impatiens glandulifera.......maar meer info en betere foto's kunnen meer duidelijkheid geven.
